Gilman, "The Yellow Wallpaper"
1. Woolf talks about having to kill the "Angel in the House" before she can be a good writer. This article was written in 1942, 70 years ago. Does the "Angel in the House" still exist for women today, for writers and for other women?
2. In Charlotte Perkins Gilman's story, "The Yellow Wallpaper," how do the narrator's surroundings contribute to her descent into madness?
3. When any group of people is oppressed, the central concern of their lives becomes that oppression. How do you see this manifested in Woolf and Gilman's writings?
